چکیده
Abstract Five known compounds (1–5) were isolated from the extract of Mundulea sericea leaves. Similar investigation roots this plant afforded an additional three (6–8). The structures elucidated using NMR spectroscopic and mass spectrometric analyses. absolute configuration 1 was established ECD spectroscopy. In antiplasmodial activity assay, compound showed good with IC50 2.0 μM against chloroquine-resistant W2, 6.6 μM chloroquine-sensitive 3D7 strains Plasmodium falciparum. Some also tested for antileishmanial activity. Dehydrolupinifolinol (2) sericetin (5) active drug-sensitive Leishmania donovani (MHOM/IN/83/AG83) values 9.0 5.0 μM, respectively. a cytotoxicity lupinifolin (3) significant on BEAS-2B (IC50 4.9 μM) HePG2 10.8 μM) human cell lines. All other low (IC50 > 30 μM) lung adenocarcinoma cells (A549), liver cancer (HepG2), lung/bronchus (epithelial virus transformed) (BEAS-2B) immortal hepatocytes (LO2)

Antiplasmodial and Larvicidal Flavonoids from Derris Trifoliata
From the dichloromethane-methanol (1:1) extract of the seed pods of Derris trifoliata, a new flavanone derivative (S)-lupinifolin 4 -́methyl ether was isolated. In addition, the known flavonoids lupinifolin and rotenone were identified. The structures were determined on the basis of spectroscopic evidence. Lupinfolin showed moderate in vitro antiplasmodial activity against the D6 (chloroquine-se...

متن کاملStudy of the in vitro antiplasmodial, antileishmanial and antitrypanosomal activities of medicinal plants from Saudi Arabia.
The present study investigated the in vitro antiprotozoal activity of sixteen selected medicinal plants. Plant materials were extracted with methanol and screened in vitro against erythrocytic schizonts of Plasmodium falciparum, intracellular amastigotes of Leishmania infantum and Trypanosoma cruzi and free trypomastigotes of T. brucei. Cytotoxic activity was determined against MRC-5 cells to a...
